Behind the Blanks:
The Power of Showing Up
Lessons learned from two years of growth,
adaptability,and serving customers with intention.

At SLC Activewear, we're fortunate to work
alongside people who genuinely care about
helping customers grow their businesses.
Our Behind the Blanks series is a chance
to spotlight the individuals behind the emails,
phone calls, orders, and conversations.
Through personal reflections, lessons learned,
and career milestones, we're sharing the stories
that have shaped our team members along
the way.
This week, we're featuring Inna Smith,
whose journey over the past two years has been
defined by growth, curiosity, and a commitment
to building meaningful relationships.
Dear Me,
I want to take a moment to
recognize how much I’ve grown
over the past two years.
Working for a family-owned
company has changed me in ways
I didn’t expect. It’s helped me
become more personable and
intentional in the relationships
I’ve built. The accounts I manage
aren’t just numbers, they’re
people I genuinely try to show up
for. I’ve learned what it means
to go the extra mile, to
“move mountains”
when I can, and to take pride
in being someone others
can rely on.
Coming from a door-to-door sales
background into a completely
different environment like
SLC Activewear was a big shift.
At first, it pushed me out of my
comfort zone, but over time it’s
helped me slow down, connect more
deeply, and focus on long-term
relationships instead of quick wins.
I’ve learned the value of follow-up,
consistency, and truly
understanding what people need.
I’ve also started to enjoy the process
of finding new things that I know will
genuinely help or excitethe people
I work with. That curiosity and
attention to detail have become
some of my greatest strengths.
Now, stepping into a team lead role,
I can see another level of growth
happening. Supporting my team,
sharing what I’ve learned, and
helping others succeed has given
my work a new kind of purpose.
It’s no longer just about what I can
achieve individually, but about
what we can accomplish together.
I’m proud of how far I’ve come,
and I know there’s still more ahead.
Keep going.

CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM LEAD

One Lesson
Worth Sharing
One theme stands out throughout Inna's reflection: people matter.
Whether it's a customer, a teammate, or a business partner, lasting success is built on relationships. The value of showing up consistently, listening carefully, and investing in others is a lesson that extends far beyond the apparel industry, and one that continues to shape Inna's growth every day.
